Stamina Packs Have Arrived!!!

No need to amp up your workouts to increase your stamina. All you need is a free stamina pack, which are finally available! For a limited time, you can send free stamina packs to your friends from the Free Gifts page, but take care when deciding when to accept those you receive. Here's why:
By accepting a stamina pack from your Zynga request or Facebook request page, you use it instantly; you can’t store free stamina packs or save them for a rainy day, so you’ll need to use strategey to decide when to accept the stamina packs you receive. Also, you can only accept one stamina pack every 16 hours, so, if you’ve already accepted/used one and try to accept another within 16 hours, you will end up receiving Mystery Boosts instead. You will also receive a Mystery Boost if you accept/use a stamina pack when your stamina is already at 100%.
With free stamina packs, sexy new fight loot, and Ice Seasons going on, there’s no reason you shouldn’t be fighting. So suit up, send stamina to your Mafia, and attack!

He's Back; The Return Of The Raven

He's baaaaack! Ice players on the fight list to pick up The Raven’s trail. He’s very hard to track down, but when you get close you'll discover special Ammo with which to fight him. The more you ice other players in fights, the greater your chances of catching a glimpse of him in the form of this banner in your fight list:

Keep icing opponents and you may actually get the opportunity to fight this maniac, which is presented in the form of this banner in your fight list:

Once you encounter the Assassin, you will have 8 hours to clip this raven's wings using the Knife Slash, Bloody Knuckles, & Crack Of The Bat boss fight Ammos plus the new Sniper Shot! These Ammos drop from jobs, fights, robbing, & ices, respectively. Unlike the Shotgun Blast that the Sniper Shot replaces in Assassin Boss Fights*, the Sniper Shot is NOT giftable. The only way to get those is from icing, which works out because you won't even get a chance to cook The Raven's goose unless you lure him to you by icing other players. If you fail to defeat The Raven within 8 hours after you've started the fight, he will retreat to heal for 3 days, after which you will be able to pick up his trail once again.
*Note: The new Sniper Shot is an Ammo used exclusively in Assassin Boss Fights. The Shotgun Blast will no longer be available for use in Assassin Boss Fights, but any previously collected Shotgun Blasts will remain in your inventory and will be accessible in future non-Assassin Boss Fights.

Ice Seasons

The cold front is here to stay! Ice mobsters from the fight list each week to earn reputation badges and cool rewards. A new Ice Season begins every Tuesday at 11am PDT and runs for a whole week.
Reputation Badges
Ice players to build your reputation each week. There are five mastery tiers (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Ruby, and Diamond) that each have five levels for a total of 25 badges. At the end of each season, your badge ranking will be determined by how many ices you earned for that week. For example, looking at the image below, finishing a season with a total of 60 ices means you reached the 4th level of the gold tier. Reaching that level earns you a gold-colored badge with the number 4, which will appear next to your name on the fight list and on your profile page.
Season Rewards
There are 2 types of Season Rewards. Mastery Tier items will automatically drop in fights when you ice enough opponents. For example, when you collect 2 ices, 3 booster packs will drop in your fight rewards tray.
Grand Prizes are awarded at the end of the season (every Tuesday at 11am PDT). You can only receive one grand prize, the level of which is determined by your total ice count for the season. For example, looking at the image below, if you finish with between 80 & 179 ices in a season, you will receive the gold-tier grand prize.

Bullying
In an effort to curb bullying, we have capped the number of times that icing a particular player will count toward the event at 50 for each Ice Season. Icing the same player beyond 50 times will continue to add to your personal and family ice counts, but will not contribute to your progress in the current Ice Season. The cap will reset at the start of each Ice Season so that icing your favorite targets will once again count (up to 50 times) toward each new season.

Coming Soon: Upgraded Request Window

We’re excited to announce that the Request window, which is used to send & ask for gifts, ask for help with Missions, ask your Mafia members to join your Brazil City Crew, etc., will soon receive an upgrade to make requesting help from your Mafia easier than ever! Here are the changes coming to the Requesting experience:
A New Look: The Facebook-style list and buttons that currently appear in the Request window will be replaced to better match the look of Mafia Wars. (See image* at left.) *Note: The image is a mockup/piece of concept art. The look and features of the new Request window may change prior to release.
Select More Recipients: The maximum number of recipients you can select will increase to 50!
Fewer Clicks Required: You will now be able to check a box that allows you to skip seeing Facebook's post preview and second "Send Requests" button when you send requests to the exact same group of recipients in the future.
When you check the box and click Facebook's "Send Requests" button for the first time, the group of recipients is essentially whitelisted for future requesting without the Facebook step. You can whitelist as many groups of 1-50 people as you like, but, due to Facebook limitations, the individual members of groups you whitelist are NOT whitelisted on their own. This means that, when you whitelist groups (and even individuals), you will have to remember to select exactly the same group of recipients in the future to be able to send requests without having to see and click Facebook's post preview and second "Send Requests" button.

Details About the Roll-out
We're eager to give everyone the upgraded Requesting window, but we regrettably need to roll it out slowly to ensure stability. We've already released it to a randomly-selected 10% of all Mafia Wars players, and we expect to roll it out to 100% of players within the next few weeks. Also, while the Request window appears in all the places mentioned earlier, the upgraded Request window will initially only appear when you request Brazil Crew. You will know you've been added to the new Request window experiment, then, when you return to the game and discover that your Brazil Crew Request window looks more like the one pictured above.

New Free Gifts: Mystery Boosts

Mystery Boosts are now available on the Free Gift page! The deal with this gift is that it's a mystery exactly what boosts you'll receive until you open it. Each Mystery Boost gift contains 2-3 kinds of boosts pulled from 28 different Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Superior boosts that help you fight, rob, and complete jobs. Even the recently-introduced Premium Boosts are possible! Whether you get 2 or 3 kinds of boosts is random, as is exactly which boosts you get. The quantity of each kind you receive is weighted by the quality of the boost. You could end up with 4 of the same Superior boost, 9 each of 3 Common boosts (27 total!), or a random mix of Common, Uncommon, Rare, Superior, and Premium boosts. It's a mystery until you open the Mystery Boost gift!
Remember, the more gifts you send to your mafia, the more you are likely to receive, so start sending these useful new Mystery Boosts!

Premium Boosts

Tired of seeing “Sorry you lost” when you fight heavy hitters? We’re introducing 3 different Premium Boosts to the Marketplace to help you collect more ices by enabling you to endure more pain or deal more damage or allow you to walk away with more money if you lose. Premium Boosts pack more punch than normal boosts, and you can get 10 Premium Boosts for 12 RP! The 3 Premium Boosts are all attack boosts. Here’s what they do:

Vampire Batting Restores your health by half the amount of damage you deal. (i.e. If you deal 20 damage to your opponent, you will also regain 10 health.)

Ruthless Doubles the damage you deal when you attack your opponent.

Decoy Steals your opponent’s money when you lose a fight - instead of losing money. (This boost will only be activated when you lose a fight and your opponent has cash available to steal.)

The Big Payoff
Our biggest energy players have been asking us for a challenge, and we are pleased to announce that we have created a high-energy job exclusively for our top jobbers: The Big Payoff.
If you have 2,000+ energy points, you’ll get a shot at mastering The Big Payoff, where you got to SPEND BIG if you want to WIN BIG. (It costs 1,000 energy each time you click “Do Job”. Now may be a good time to use your energy packs!) For completing The Big Payoff you will recieve the Rare vehicle, Thin Ice (150 Attack/100 Defense), and attack, defense, and experience points! The Big Payoff is a limited-time event during which you can master the job to earn Thin Ice up to 25 times.
