Mafia Wars Multiple Profiles In Firefox

**** Mafia Wars Multiple Profiles In Firefox  ****

Are there multiple members in your household that use the same computer?

Do you have multiple facebook users on the same computer?

Are you tired of having to log out of one account and log back into another?

Would you like a Firefox browser that only has “your” gaming bookmarks and scripts installed on it?

  1. This will allow you to clone up to 8 independent FF browsers on one computer. You will be able to set each browser/desktop icon to open a specific FB / MW page as the home page and store the "log on" for that specific profile or page.(Firefox can store your password for you). Each Desktop shortcut/Icon can be named for the specific account or person that it is assigned to.

  1. Advantage #1: You will never need to log on to your FB account again (Up to 8). Simply click the specific desktop Icon for the account you want and it will open to that profile and you will be logged on.  (Note; you need to go to FF>> [Tools] >> [Options]>> [General]>> [Use Current Page]. Be sure you are logged on to FB and at the page you want to open to) (also go to [Tools]>> [Options]>> [Content]>> [Enable Java Scripts] [checked] across from Enable JavaScripts [Advanced]>>  [Move or Resize existing windows]>> [un-check] )
  1. Disadvantage #1: You will be able to run up to 8 FB / MW accounts at the same time. (God bless you if your computer can handle it).
  1. Advantage #2: You will be able to set up specific FF browsers for you gaming only.  Your families other stuff will not be on it.
  1. Disadvantage #2: If you save your log-on, anybody with access to your computer will be able to get to your FB / MW accounts.
(You can password protect your Windows user account to keep them out)
  1. Advantage #3: Since scripts like PS Wall Scrubber and PS Auto Player are browser specific, You may now set up each new browser for that specific FB / MW account and never have to change the settings again.
  1. Disadvantage #3: You will need to install Xmarks, MW toolbar, Grease Monkey, PS Wall Scrubber, PS Auto player ,  FB MafiaWars Addon  and any other scripts on each new browser and do updates on each one separately.
*** I recommend you install "Xmarks" bookmark manager on your original browser before going any further. www.xmarks.com ***
You can set up different profiles on Xmarks, so only your gaming bookmarks will synchronize on your gaming FF browsers.
Xmarks will also work on Chrome for those of you that like to fight on Chrome and use FF for the GM Scripts.
============================================================

*** Close all open Firefox browsers before starting. ***

* Right click, Copy and paste your FF desk top short cut/icon.

* Right click the new short cut/icon and select "Rename", rename new Icon as "FF Profile Manager".
Click anywhere on desktop to set new name.

* Right click the new "FF Profile manager" Icon and select "Properties"

* On the line that says "Targets" add (space) -p  to the end of the line.
  ."C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p

Click "Apply" and "OK" to close

* Double click the new "FF Profile Manager" Desktop icon/short cut and open the profile manager. (This will be a small pop up box) There will be one profile in there “default” this can later be renamed anything you want. For now, leave it alone. It is attached to your original FF shortcut/icon.

* Click "Create new profile" and name it whatever you want.
(Note: leave no spaces in the profile name and use no symbols) (I use the account name I plan to assign to that profile).

* Follow through the steps and click “finish”.

* Be sure the "Ask at start up" and "Work off line" are [un-checked] and close profile manager.

** If you do not want several FF shortcut/Icons on your desk top. You may stop here and simply “Create new profile” up to 8 times in the “FF Profile Manager”.
To access the different profiles, Double click the “FF Profile Manager” shortcut/icon, Select the profile you wish to open and hit “Start Firefox”.

============================================================
If you would like a separate Icon for each account:
(The advantage to this is if you have selected to have your Desk Top accessible from your toolbar, all your icons will be there.)
***Create New Desk Top Shortcuts***

* Right click, Copy and paste the original FF short cut icon and rename this new shortcut/icon whatever you want ( I use the FB profile I will assign to that Icon).

* Right click new short cut/icon and select “Properties”.

* On the line that says "Targets" add (space) -p (space) (whatever you named your new profile in profile manager) (space) -no-remote

"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p profile name here -no-remote

(Note; be sure to write the profile name exactly as you did in profile manager).

 * Click "Apply" and "OK" to close.

* Double click the new Icon and Firefox should open as a brand new browser.
(Note; if the profile manager opens, you did something wrong, double check you left a space before the –p and that the names are spelled exactly the same in Profile Manager and the New Shortcut/Icon)
*** Repeat this up to 8 times to have up to 8 FF icons each assigned to a specific page or FB profile.
*** At this point you will want to install xmarks and transfer all your bookmarks from your other browser.***
(Note; you will need xmarks installed on your original browser first)
